chicken manure
« on: March 18, 2019, 13:25 »
Just scooped up two large sacks of chicken pellets from a country lane. The farmer had dropped them on Sunday and the wife and I went and collected the spoils today... we must have made a pretty picture filling the sack with it  Anyway it rained a bit last night so it was partially rehydrated today. What would be the approx application rate for this stuff... it was free and I reckon there was probably about 15 - 20kg of the stuff car boot smells a bit wiffy though

Lucky find (except for the smell) :D
I use a large handful for each square yard, you'll need a bit more if the pellets have swollen, you can then add the same again in about 8 weeks time for hungry crops.
