Small milestone...
« on: September 17, 2018, 04:47 »
This weekend we have planted our 1st produce for next years crop, an 11ft row of Carcassonne Wight Garlic and that feels like we've gone from winning to finally won.

We've had our plot for nearly 4 months and in that time we've dug, deweeded and levelled 800+ sqare foot of ground, repaired the shed, paved parts, removed a load of rotting raised beds and grown a variety of veg as we've gone along, made detailed growing plans and all that with 2 small children and both of us working full time.

Still some digging to do and it may only be one short row of garlic but to us it's made us feel like all the hard work has been worthwhile, and that we CAN do it! :)

Good job! It's really satisfying hitting those little landmark moments with a new plot :)

Good for you! Just to see something planted gives such a lift to the soul.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

11ft of garlic is impressive … hope you like it!!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Well this is the 1st of 4 rows, we get through a lot of garlic in our house!

The Carcassone is a hardneck type so this will get eaten 1st, the other 3 are softnecks so will hopefully store for year round garlic!

That is a huge achievement; well done you!
