I haven't grown them, but seen in Kings catalogue, where it's listed under pea, but it is a bean. I would treat as French beans, which they are quite similar to, I believe.

... I'm quite shocked that no-one has anymore words of wisdom!

Well ... if I get em to grow and they taste alright, I shall save seed and put em on the swap shop!

Not to Babe then - she'd feed them to Elvis (if you've been following the Quiz at all)  :?

And not to me since I can't even manage runner beans

If it wasn't for chemicals we'd be organic.

Got some from the Heritage seed library last year and to be honest they are just like any other french climbing bean. Cant see where the "pea" comes in.
I saved some seed and will be regrowing them this year.

I grow them, They are great for winter Stews. Just let them grow and wait till the pods dry out the store them in a air tight jar.

Grew them too.

Picked the pods young to use like mange toute - and then as Porcia says, left the pods to mature and dry out for the beans/peas.

Grew them up wigwams the same as my climbing beans. Was my first year growing anything and I got a really good crop so that shows how easy they were.

I should add that I'm not exactly sure what variety they were as I was given them by someone who didn't know, who had been given them by someone who didn't know either.
Oops a daisy!

So any particularly nice flavour then, to make worthwile, or anything else going for them, please. :D

... these pea beans seem to have a habit of being given away!

I shall report back later in the year.

They come off sounding like a glut of courgettes...just give the ruddy things away!

Can't say I've even heard of them let alone tried them, not when I can get specific beans and peas that are highly tasty and good yielders.
