This year I’m going to use string to tie up my tomatoea instead of canes. Which string can I use that won’t disintegrate or snap half way through the season? Links to places where I can buy would be appreciated.

I've been using 1.7mm blue polypropylene cord from one of the German discount supermarkets for the last 4 years for my toms and cucs and it still looks and feels as good as new. They still have it in their special offers every so often. It was (and I think still is) 99p for 50m when I bought it!

I have been using for a few years the jute string from Poundland.
The Charlie Dimmock range in a few variants and some in tins.
Its strong and use it to tie up all kinds inside and out around the garden.

Works perfect too in the greenhouse for the tomato tying up along with the tent peg packs for a £1 to fasten the string to the ground that drops from the horizontal canes.
I have horizontal canes at top secured each of end of greenhouse with ties and brackets.
