I would split up into a pot each, let them establish themselves in the pots, then plant out in a couple of weeks.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Tease them apart. If they each have a reasonable root plant them straight out. If not then do as DD says.

If you have plenty of plants cut off the poorest ones to leave the best and plant out. That would disturb the roots less.

Three opinions and all different. What else do you expect from gardeners?
