soft shell and flubenvet
« on: January 28, 2008, 09:43 »
started worming my hens this week, a sprinkle in some corn between the 5 of them.  Today some one laid an egg with a very soft jelly like shell which fell apart when i picked it up( they then gobbled it up) I,m worried now that they may have got the taste for it.  Some one else laid an egg with a soft shell that was broken.  Could it be the flubenvet thats affected the shells?

No Shazzer it won't be the flubenvet.  Make sure they get more calcium, A dish of Oyster shell or Lime flour (from the horsey shops) sprinkled on their feed. Some cod liver oil dripped on their feed may help them to absorb the calcium too.
