I love blackcurrants, already have 3 bushes but have space to fit in a 3rd. Would now be OK to plant or is it too cold/ have i missed the boat?Also, what varieties are good for heavy crops? Thanks in advance.

As long as the ground isn't actually frozen, you can plant it.

Leaving it into April, is pushing it a bit IMO - specially if we get an early Spring.

I'd suggest planting them before mid-March.
