New allotment i'm just turning this grass  Area over as you can see in the picture will the grass in it die off and just leave it over winter thanks

Yes.  Just make sure the roots are upright and the grass underneath.

The grass will die back eventually although it will take a bit of work with the hoe. I find I get lots of grasses in my garden every year even though I hoe a lot during the growing season there are always seed that get a chance to mature. I think that in the fullness of time the weeds that tend to cause most problems are things like dandelions and other wind bourn seeds . The hoe is the secret though every gardener knows that keep it moving and the weeds will be gone :)

Stack the clods upside down in a neat cube, out of your way. Cover with a sheet and in 12 months they'll be rotted out to a good soil and ready to dig back in.
