Hi chaps, I have a small row of peas and had a good picking a few days ago, there are more ready to pick today (well the pods look 'full') but I'm off on holiday for two weeks - should I offer friends to go pick them or will they keep for a fortnight so we have a treat to come home to or do they get too big and hard (I guess I can always let them 'mature' and dry them)!

Two weeks would mean they were fat and mealy, so I would ask a friend to pick them iiwm

Or freeze them before you go. They do not loose their home grown flavour. If you are planning to use them within a few month or so they do not need blanching , just drop them in a bag.
