what do I use ?

to attach clematis mesh to a brick wall, I need it to go onto the wall, directly, with no kind of support inbetween.
Thanks, Mrs Bouquet

You will need  bit of a gap or the clematis (assuming that is what you are growing) won't be able to twine around it. You can buy clips specially for the netting which make it stand about an inch proud. Or use vine eyes and wire the mesh to the eyes.

Personally I would give it a slightly bigger gap by attaching some roofing batten to the wall then attach the trellis to that. It takes far fewer screws into the wall to do it that way.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.  It needs to go hard to the wall, as It has to prevent a little escapee dog
from going through, where my fence panel, has broken down.  Can I use oboe nails or something like a sort of stapley thing to bash the mesh in.  Mrs Bouquet.

Its difficult without seing the layout but if I am picturing it correctly I would still screw a baaten to the wall top and bottom then use wire staples to attach the mesh. You will probably only have to use two screws for the batten then as many staples as you feel you need. Otherwise you are going to have to use multiple fixings into the wall which is always more difficult.

Thanks Trikidiki, I shall try that I think.  All I've got to do is figure out how to charge the Makita Drill and how to change the bits.  Off to B&Q in the morning to buy the things to do it.
Many thanks again, and I am sorry to have wasted your time earlier.  Mrs Bouquet
