Sorry to shout but i'm very excited!  I take back my last post, mother hen was obviously just preparing herself for the big day.
Am going to boil it for my son, whos 3 today and he loves eggs.  Will have to wait til tomorrow before tasting one.
Thay are bigger than I imagined, only being a bantam.
Here hopes its the 1st of many.

nice one ness and what a way to remember your first egg eh :lol: you can tell the bairn when older they had your first egg :D

It was superb.  I shared it with my son as I couldn't resist it, the yolk was so orange!  My daughter was a bit gutted not to have "found" it so I must leave the rabbit hutch well alone tomorrow until she gets home from school.  Hopefully we'll have another present.

It may take a few weeks before supply catches up with demand!  They are only banty eggs, may take a fair few to make an omlette.  Am hoping the daughters will catch on then we'll really be cooking.

I "blew" the first eggs from our chickens, they were so cute and small, so my 2 little daughters could paint and keep them, and they ate a very small scrambled eggy breakfast :lol:
