have a ask around if anyone wants to swap raspberries for something else. or put some of them on gumtree or similar sites.

not sure what your sites like but could you use them as a hedge next year, you'd have to restrict the roots i would say.

So today I dug them all up, was amazing when I looked at the roots how entwined they all were, definitely a good idea to dig them up. I decided to use half of another raised bed which gave me just enough space to plant two of each variety, I brought 6 different varieties so I planted 12 canes in total.

This has left me with 24 spare canes, I have thought about other places I could put them on the plot but I'm still clearing it so will be difficult to decide where to put them. So if anyone on here lives in or around the Basingstoke area and is in need of some canes feel free to let me know!

If the recommended spacing makes them look like this:

Then in year two with extra sprouts and suckers they would look like this:
