hops
« on: April 02, 2016, 09:48 »
hello all.
after buying a couple of hop plants last year , they grew well and after harvesting a 2 ltr plant pot full of hops
Mrs daveylamp put the resulting crop into a couple small of bags with a few lavender seeds (to help with sleeping problems )http://chat.allotment-garden.org/Smileys/green/blush.gif
so my question is what do I do with the plants this year how to prune or what should the aftercare of these plants.
dave
I'll beat this heavy clay yet. now almost there works well now

You prune hops right down in the spring and they regrow from soil level.  They are very hardy plants and don't need a lot of fussing over.  If they are in a pot, a good balanced feed could be applied now.  If they are in the soil and it is decent stuff, they should be fine without  :)

I'm going to pop this over to general gardening, as that's more geared towards growing advice  :)

I grew them once, couldn't get rid of them, they became weeds.
