worms frozen ground
« on: January 20, 2016, 09:22 »
Anyone know if the latest cold spell will have killed roundworm eggs on the soil? It was frozen hard for over a week down to about a centimetre. Online it just says a "hard and prolonged frost" will kill them. Rather not lime if I don't have to, the ground has been rested from the hens also for 4 weeks and the hens wormed in the meantime.

I just found this which answers my own question - no, the frost will not have destroyed the eggs

Interesting reading.
