My psb is being ravaged by caterpillars. I'm assuming cabbage whites. I netted them as soon as they went in the patch but on checking why an entire plant had been stripped there were hundreds of the bu@@gers.

I tried to pick as many off as I could find but can imagine there are the same amount again hiding waiting to get at the other 4 plants. Do I accept defeat? Anything I can do??

Either pick off the caterpillars and rub off any eggs or spray, think they're the only 2 options.

As said, keep on picking or spray. A pyrethrum product such as PY or you could try dilute washing up liquid, or blast them with a hose. PSB will be OK as long as it is not totally stripped.

Day 2 of uncovering, picking the blighters off and recovering. Swapping to enviro mesh over the weekend!!

My sprout leaves are being stripped too and, as I couldn't see any catter-villains I thought it was pigeons but - nope! Underneath the leaves are those tiny green ones that blend in so well.
