After years of saying to my OH that I would not get another incubator, I am now on the market for one. I originally had the Brinsea Mini Advance and the Octogon 20 advance but there are now so many other on the market that I am spoilt for choice. The Brinsea brands now appear to be very expensive which I don't mind paying if they are the only ones that do the job properly and I found them very efficient, but has anyone had any experience with other brands, good or bad? What are the Rcoms' like? I'm looking in the main to incubate duck eggs, although I do realise that they are notoriously difficult to incubate

Sorry I can't advise on an incubator but I have successfully used a broody hen for duck eggs. Just a thought

Believe it or not, a load of my hens went broody a few weeks back and I've only now just managed to break the last one of it - great timing eh?

I've recently started trying to raise chicks, I started 1st of May, I bought the brinsea eco glow, it's great, fan, cradle rocker, temp etc it is hassle free all I did was keep an eye on humidity an rest did itself did 3 sets of 24 chicken eggs and got over 60% hatch rate every time and now some of the batch are over 16 weeks old so waiting for my first layers 👍👍
I would defiantly go with Brinsea like you said they are a bit more expensive but every time I rung them they were excellent and in the UK so no problem contacting them. Hope this helps

Thanks - I have actually just bought a Brinsea and it should be with me tomorrow. I've read reviews of the others out there and was horrified  by some of the remarks so decided to stick with what I had experience of. I've now got my hatching eggs ordered and away we go (again!)
