Dried mushroom compost versus slugs and snails.
« on: June 28, 2015, 13:53 »
This year I've had someone to help me spread mushroom compost all over my floral and veg garden. When the top gets dry it becomes quite hard and rough. I've noticed that I'm not getting the usual amount of snail and slug damage. I've put some blue pellets close to some veg stems but haven't seen many corpses. Is this something to try?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I have found that small slugs live in the soil and cause damage underground and at the base of stems, avoiding the blue pellets of death on the surface  :(

It might just be coincidence as I have found I have far fewer slugs this year (certainly compared to last year!)

Black fly however.....
