Nope - went on an aphid-spotting safari in my garden yesterday and only found one small cluster of blackfly on the campanula (a favourite every year but not many so far this year.)

Spotted one ladybird - it looked a bit sad (and thin!)

I can send over some aphids for him/her if you like, JayG

Whilst reading a magazine yesterday, I came across using marjoram, rosemary and sage as companion planting to ward off blackfly. Anyone heard of it or tried it?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Well, I've never seen aphids on any of those, but I've never seen aphids on lots of other plants either!

As I mentioned previously, you can discover just about any companion combination you like if you search online, but they can't all be right (especially when the advice is contradictory. )

(Sunny, I've got a much better idea - I'll have a word with the ladybird and suggest it flies darn sarf to you if it's got the strength! )
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Yes black fly every where ,they are on my squash, tomato, beans, and I gave each leaf a VIP massage to get rid of them. And I also saw them on weeds.

The ladybirds are a bit more delayed than usual due to the cold spring, they've not fully fledged yet so the blackfly are making whoopee. Give it a week or two.

Not any sign of or a mention of any blackfly on Monty Don's broad beans he picked last night.
