The CD thing looks interesting but my tree is too small I think, so nowhere to really hang anything from.

Anyway this is my effort, pity there weren't more "formed" cherries to protect....if I get more than 3 it's a bonus

Hello Mr/Mrs Rocket
Your netting looks good and will help stop pigeons damaging your tree even if you only have a few cherries to pick. Our tree isn't much bigger and we only got a few cherries in first couple of years - which is normal. Last year was better and gave me enough to make very small amount of delicious Morello Cherry Jam - we savoured every mouthful and greedily hid it away not willing to share that batch with anyone  ;)
I'll try to get a photo of ours before the netting goes on - cherries are still yellow. I'm so upset that we lost one heavily laden branch to the wind - it's still on the tree and propped up in case they ripen.

Very grateful for all your suggestions and here's wishing we all get a decent crop this year 'when' the sun decides to put in an appearance!! Very gloomy here in Kent for days now  :(
