I have been out of the country for 15 years so my thoughts on this might be a little tarnished but I most certainly do not remember working outside in May being as freeking cold as this!!!!!
I do remember quite vividly spending hours hand weeding the tiny seedlings and as this is that time of the year yeah.....................it's cold, its wet, its windy and my just popping up stuff needs to be weeded. Maybe later on today. The forecast isn't bad the reality is pretty grim right now.

Agreed, we had loads, and loads of strawberries in the middle of may last year.

This year, they are just starting to flower.

Report on the Radio stated that Spring was 3 days late this year i.e. the plants flowered 3 days later than average.       I know it feels cold and a late Spring but we seem to all agree that is the case every year!
