Hi All,
l am growing some asparagus from seed to fill the gaps, l have just put the seed in a pot and l now have about 30 or so seedlings about 5 inches tall, should l separate these out now into single pots or should l leave them till they die down this year and then separate them?

lf l do have to separate them what size pot should l use?

ls there any way of finding out which are male & female?

I sowed mine singly in 4" pots, so I'd say transplant before the roots get too entangled. They ended up in 6" pots by the end of the first year and were transplanted into final positions the next spring (2nd year) and I'm harvesting some in this, the third year :-)
