Good year for violets...
« on: April 21, 2015, 06:02 »
This year seems to be turning into the best array of violets we can remember!

Our 'wild' front garden has so many more than we've seen in the past, and the churchyard behind us is just covered in some places!

Do these delightful flowers have good years and dormant years?

Funny you should say that, even here thousands of miles away we had a lot more than last year

They just fill the grass, don't they!

We're so lucky, because we have the best view in the village, with all these gorgeous flowers, and also the primroses, anemones and daffodils, which all come after a huge swath of snowdrops, every year!

Yup, I'd noticed how many more I had this year.  I drew the conclusion that it was due to my careful husbandry and that, therefore, I would have loads from in future years from now until eternity ...

... gutted to hear that isn't the case :D

There are three benches like this, Goosey, put there as memorials to loved ones, and yes, they're in lovely positions to see all those flowers!

The pic doesn't do the view justice really! We just see the whole lot!

We've had just as many as years past...which means lots and lots. Some white, some purple, they're all over the yard. ☺️

They're finishing here now, Lotus and Jonny!

Also they have to mow the churchyard, but he does wait as long as possible!
