I have a Bluebelle (Ronnie) & a Black Tailed Columbian (Margo) who are 3 yrs old and have been prolific layers of brown eggs. When I got Margo her first couple of eggs were massive (see avatar)  Today I found this one (see pic) and it is tiny, the one next to it is a Margo egg which is almost 2 ins long but it was the only brown egg today the BO's lay large cream and the Cream Legbars blue so I know it is not one of theirs, so whilst I am not sure I think it is Margo's.  I have had large eggs but not any this size, it is less than an inch long but was perfect when I cracked it open albeit there was a tiny bit of red attached to the yolk sac. Is this indicating that she is coming to the end of her egg production or is it just one of those weird things that happens??

I collected an absolutely tiny egg too a few weeks back. The hen concerned is only 18 months old. She laid a full-size one the next day and has done ever since. Maybe she needed to lay an egg, just didn't have the wherewithal for a normal one. It's been cold here, so I presumed she needed all her nourishment for herself. Hope that's the case.

this looks like it is a wind egg (often called a fart egg and a witches egg), some have a very very tiny yolk and others just white. They are nothing to worry about
