Strawberry thief
« on: February 01, 2015, 15:39 »
:( every year I have a glut of strawberries in a raised bed.  However, every year whilst they are still green they are taken and piled up in mounds of ten to twenty fruits in various spots around the bed, under the leaves. There is never any visible damage on the fruits.  Who is stealing my strawberries?!

Oooh I know this one!!

 VOLES!!!!

They are making a stash of seeds... they do not want the fruit, and can sneakily burrow up from under the ground or run in quickly from the sidelines

Thank you!

That makes a lot of sense.  We have lots. No remedy then, other than finding a way of keeping the cat in there for the whole of next summer!
