Hi chaps ... my butternut squash was wildly successful, it took over the plot though, anyone know of a compact variety - I cannot find the seed pack so I'm not sure which one I planted (this links to my other post about an app where I can record planting dates and varieties) ... best Roger

Mine have gone wild this year, but my neighbour's keep there's very compact in raised beds by trimming the trailing vines once they've set fruit. I've got loads of smaller squash, but they've got a few monsters. I think I'll trim mine a bit after I've got a decent set of fruit next year.

You can grow them upwards.
Just google squash growing on trellis and select images for loads of pictures.

Harrier is a smaller plant - with smaller squash.
