to plough or not?

So..... When I eventually get my lottie plot the clerk tells me it can be ploughed for a small fee!

Is this a good idea? :?

Judging by the state of all the 'unused' plots whichever one I end up with is gonna need a lot of TLC!!!!

Any thoughts?

will they let you clear the ground first? You don't want loads of weeds cut up and ploughed back into the soil......

If you've cleared the ground, little point in ploughing. Our council do it free when you take a plot one, but a one off ploughing is only cosmetic, it looks good for a short time - then on your next visit you've got a lawn of couch grass!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

That's what I thought - I didn't want to 'roundup' the area and plough it all in.... I'll save my £15 then and get down to some old fashioned digging and weeding I know that once I get my plot I'm gonna be itching to get planting ASAP!!

You never know I might get a plot that someone has lovingly tended! (SnapDragon ducks head as pig flys round room)
