Well done Lardman - no problems with mine so far either, although that's mainly due to the fact I've not sown them yet!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

I was sooo tempted to leave them in the GH overnight but wimped out and brought them in the house  ::) Having paid them no attention since sowing, you watch as they all now curl up and die when I start to get involved

Im not a particular fan of cukes and if they grow properly this will probably be the last year I grow them, I just had to get them right once, it was bugging me.

no problems with mine so far either, although that's mainly due to the fact I've not sown them yet!

You're not actually paying attention to what it says on the packet are you ? Pah - just throw some seed outside in a cold, dark spot in the garden and watch them grow like triffids

4th year of trying to grow GH cukes (OK with outdoor ones.) Hoping that my latest 'idea' of providing more shade does the trick, although it's entirely possible they will just find some other excuse to die!

If they do, I'll go with your suggestion Lardman, although at 3 pounds something-or-other for 5 seeds they don't exactly encourage me to chuck them around with gay, or any other sort, of abandon!

Well done Lardman, after all the effort (or not in your case) of growing them to a healthy state you could progress to a different variety next year  :D I have 3 varieties doing well in my unheated greenhouse, never had much of a problem with them tbh <blows on fingers>

I was well chuffed as I was a picture 1 person, gone down to the greenhouse this morning and I am now a picture 2 person. >:(  Oh well going to a garden show today so will see if I can get a 'healthy' replacement.

I honestly think over the years I've tried most if not all the greenhouse varieties, tried to grow that is, not tried the cucumbers   :nowink:

Such a shame you have missed out on the best bit  what is it you think your not doing right? I just bung the seed in the compost and make sure it's damp put the lid on and leave it in the greenhouse. I don't faff around with heated propagators and the majority of mine germinate. It's such a shame and I think you shouldn't give up quite yet  :D

Snap that's what I do, perhaps it's too early when you start them? Although I do agree they sit around waiting for reasons to die
