Just got 15 raspberry bushes to plant and wondering about how high they will grow going to plant them in a line so can be trained on wires but also thinking about netting and how?

Depends which variety, autumn fruiting are generally shorter than summer fruiting. My Malling Admiral regularly grow upto 8-9 feet, but I trim them back to about 6 - 7 foot. I use standard 4" fence posts secured in metapost metal spikes into the ground and then 3 wires between the posts to tie the canes on.

We had our raspberries in a fruit cage to make sure we person the fruit not the birds. Loose netting never seemed to d the job and there was always the chance of birds becoming trapped in it too
