cheapest paths?
« on: March 02, 2014, 20:41 »
Hiya

just wondered what people used to make little paths and the cheapest way of doing so. im sectioning everything off and then having little walk ways around the plot, but with us taking our little one down there we dont want her getting too muddy lol.

anyway i thought of bark which is £2.50 a bag at B&M (not sure on the size will have to check)

any other ideas?

I managed to get a load of woodchip dropped off by the council, but with their new contractor it all gets sold as bio fuel so I'm having a tough time of finding a tree surgeon who will accommodate at the moment but that's the cheapest - either cardboard or weed membrane under

We had the electricity board out a couple of yeard ago to remove some large sycamore branches encroaching on our leccie post. They were more than glad to leave their shreddings with us.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I had an old cotton mat from ikea which I cut into strips for paths.  It worked well for a couple of years, and gradually rotted down into the soil. If you use carpet it is probably best to use something with natural fibres that will degrade into the soil without polluting it.
