A few weeks ago I picked up a couple of packets of Nicola seed spuds from Wilkos, purely to keep the Mrs happy as that happens to be her name. Nicola, that is, not Wilkos 

Anyway, now that I've had them chitting, they don't look so good compared to the Casablanca, Kestel, Desiree and Sarpo Mira. The chits are longer and the spuds are starting to wrinkle.

Should I just bin these and start again or will they be ok? They won't be going out for a few weeks now. I'll try attaching some pics:

they look just good to me..mine are a little smaller  .. they will be fine im sure

They are A1 chits. I water mine whilst chitting with a dilute seaweed spray.

They look great to me. Some of my Charlottes are the same.

They are better looking than mine so far... if they were white and puny then they would be rubbish... yours are absolutely great..

If they do get long, it's very difficult not to break them when you plant them

I drill holes with my auger and lay a bed of compost in the bottom of the bore place the seed potato then very  carefully cover with compost and then backfill with soil

they look like my seeds i put in last year, they grew well with a good crop.

But you nearly operate as a farm DD me I will have 4 beds of 18 spuds

They look like mine! Last year one of my varieties last year had really long chits and almost leaves forming when I put them out. They grew really well and I got a brilliant crop from them though

Yeah you just have to be careful not to break them off when planting. 3 years ago I bought some late in the season from the sale box and they had 8" long white orrible looking chits... I had a great crop tho..
