I have blackcurrant cuttings that are now going into their 3rd year growing in a seed bed. I aim to move them to a different - hopefully permanent - part of the plot.
The question is do I have to cut them back to ground level?
I do plan on planting them a few inches deeper anyway

I reckon you're right, DMG.

Chop them down when they're in their final resting place, and wait a year.

Growster I don't want any more blackcurrant plants  I took over 100+ in my first year and no one on the plots wants them. I only need 6 for the fence . I may have to guerrilla garden a few around the hedgerows

I was hoping not to cut them right down as I had cut them back a small amount when I put them in the nursery bed last year - sorry I forgot to mention that
