grew some lovely parsnips this year (still have lots ) in a raised bed..now     can i use the same bed for these next year   ty

I always move mine round as part of rotation, to avoid the build up of any potential diseases and allow the soil to recover from growing root vegetables and grow something different. Next year that bed will have a good dose of manure and then be for peas.

Always worth considering what pests mays be lurking in your soil ready to attack next year's crops - carrot fly can overwinter in this way, and although the damage is usually all too obvious with carrots, it's not always 100% obvious with parsnips as they don't tend to suffer to the same degree (the same pest can attack parsley and celery too.)

(What you really don't want to do is enviromesh your next crop of susceptible roots and thereby give any newly emerging flies in the soil a protective roof over their heads and a free meal ticket!)
