Having a bit of a spat with a mate who has come back from the Isle of Wight with some Elephant Garlic Cloves.
He intends to plant them and put next years crop in our very low key hortic. show next year.
I've told him that they are no more like garlic then everlasting sweet peas are to the real thing.
Does anyone have any facts to prop up my position, on Elephant Garlic and everlasting sweet peas, or should I withdraw gracefully?

If entering a small village show, I can almost guarantee that if one person enters a head of elephant garlic that is of good shape and pure white, it will win.
At bigger shows it may not be the case but at a village show it's a sure winner.
