The carrots in large pot s seem to have got carrot fly.  What should I do with the soil.  I was hoping to use the pots again for carrots next year.  The ones with fleece are ok.  Will have to buy something to protect them.  Can I put the carrots in the compost bin

I would not compost them. Wash the pots and use new compost. The council shall compost your soil with carrots at higher heat.

I don't worry to much about carrot fly

I just keep the good clean carrots  in compost in the shed for overwintering and the ones damaged by carrot fly I just cut out the black bits and split carrots and slice them up thinly and pop them straight in the freezer

Are they so badly riddled that you cannot eat them?
