Hi!  Here are pictures of my one month old chicks.  I know that the pictures are rough.  Their father is a Cochin.  The golden one's mother is an Orpington, the darker brown one's mother is a Speckledy (we think) and the black one's mother is a Jersey Giant.  So, what say you - boys or girls??

Okay, thirty people have looked at my chicks and no one, NO ONE, has hazarded a guess of their sex.     So I guess I'll do it myself.  I think we have three hens.     Might as well think positively!  Sure wish someone would have been interested enough to try to guess though.

it's not lack of interest ! I think it's lack of detail ,we can't see enough of their combs ! But I will be brave and agree

Thank you, you two darlin's!  They're combs are all small, one has just a tinge of pink in it.  They just won't sit still enough for me to get a photo of their heads!

Well, trying to guess sex at 1 month is pretty difficult, unles syou have autosexing birds

Also as you don't have two the same it is also difficult to do a bird by bird comparison; however I'm going to hazard a guess and say that the smaller buff bird is a cockerel, judging by the development compared to the other two.

OK Ive just taken a look and Im thinking 2 hens and 1 cock - be nice to know eventually what they are tho lol

Missed this first time around. But as a total novice I haven't a clue!  :unsure:Our's are two weeks old and look like three hens and a cock, but they are pure bred Shumen so easier to guess.

 If I am wrong I might cry!

Yes, now at six weeks, I think I might have a cockerel too - and the same one you think.  Sigh.  This chick is a real mumma's child, never leaves her side if she/he can help it.
