Hullo!
When I got my allotment last Novemer it came with some raspberry canes.
They are just starting to fruit now, (not as many fruits as I thought there would be! ) so does this mean they are autumn fruiting plants? And when they have finished fruiting do I chop them all down or just get rid of old canes!

It doesn't matter if they are summer or autumn fruiting, as long as you cut to the ground any canes that have fruited, and leave any that haven't, you won't be wrong.

Autumn fruiting - pruning all shoots down to the ground, ensures they all fruit in Autumn next year.

Pruning just the ones that fruited this year gives a few earlier fruits on the stems you didn't cut to the ground.

I prefer cutting them all to the ground so they all fruit together - it seems easier for me to manage
