Well done on taking the time to research and make sure it is for you Epona_4.  Valerie and Dorothy look beautiful hens, hopefully they will be producing lovely eggs for you soon.

Just a point about putting feed on the floor, only give them enough that they will clear it all up.  If any is left it can attract vermin or if it gets damp it will go mouldy within a day and can cause respiratory problems.   ;)

Mrs Bee i now 'waste' so much time chicken watching, its just not funny  :D, i would like a cuckoo boy and three unrelated cuckoo girls......i'm on the look out but sadly not many people have them, let alone have them for sale! i'm not sure if this might be a blessing? to slow me down  ::)

I used to waste loads of time chicken watching at first, but that does wear off in time.

Still waiting. They are a happy bunch, but it is extremely hot here at the moment, up into the forties sometimes, so I am not bothered that they are saving their energy. We are off to pick up our pure bred Shumens today, don't know how old they are (OH didn't think to ask!) but I am worried I might see something else I like while I'm there.....laying ones. That's the problem with having space and food available in the village for £1 per 10 kg! (though layers pellets are £4 )

Does it really! We've had ours seven years and I still do it , even in the morning when I can't spare the time.

You have lovely chickens there; enjoy.
