In toms V out toms.

How come many people frown upon misting indoor toms? Those which are outside get rain/mist/dew on them and don't seem to suffer any ill effects. Funny how indoor tom leaves seem to get sunspot if they have a bit of water on them, but those outside dont. What's all that about?

It's all about how the glass or plastic act as prisms on the water and magnify them into burning. Outside, they dry out too fast for the prism effect.

There is the benefit of airflow with outdoor plants too. In a greenhouse, the plants don't have the breezes and wind to stop water and mould spores sitting on your plants.
