First time I've ever tried to grow sweet-corn I was shocked at how fast they show and grow

Mine didn't do that  infact mine don't look much bigger than the third pic.  ::) they just stopped and haven't re-started

Right, I chitted 6 sweet corn seeds and 3 have white shoots showing.
Now do I put them in pots now or wait for the shoots to get longer?
Also, which way does the shoot go as I'm not sure if it's a root or the start of a seedling?!
Thanks.

Pot them up.

The shoots are roots and need to go down, but don't worry too much as they will find their own way.

The worst thing you can do is try and straighten them up if they're not quite right, as the root is very delicate and you could damage it.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

they would do I took the photos after I had watered them ?

Do I take it they don't like a lot of water then?

It has to be said after that explosion of growth they seemed to have stopped or really slowed down.

Is potting up really necessary?
