Does anyone know where i can get a couple of barnavelders from? i live in cheshire and they seem to be a breed that is not bred much anywhere now. I think they look mega in the black and gold plumage. I have four hybrids do you think they would be ok to intergrate? Andy 46

With a quick google I found THIS which is in Cheshire.   

You are best keeping new hens separate for 2 to 3 weeks but within sight and sound of your other hens which makes integration easier and gives time for any ailments to become apparent.

If your hybrids have been vaccinated you will need to ensure the new chooks are as well. This will make them harder to source

Hi Andy ... I bought a beautiful Barnevelder from Jackie at Garden Hens in Northwich two years ago.  I have just checked her website (http://www.garden-hens.co.uk/index.php/availability) and she has some Barnevelders becoming available mid-June.  Hope this helps
