I got a Compost Dalek ful of compost on freecycle on the condition I took the compost. Guess what the things that hadn't rotted were teabags, nut shells and egg shells.

I find you really have to crumble egg shells before you compost them!

We don't bother with taking the bags apart, as it's all 'garden roughage' in the end..;0)

Same here, life's too short. Don't find them in the compost either though.

My regular orange pekoe teabags compost completely, but some nice herbal ones I've purchased lately seem to be some sort of poly bag done up in a pyramid shape for some strange reason. The tea is lovely, but the bag is a nuisance and will not compost. I must either bin them or cut and empty the herbal stuff out. Sadly, I don't buy many of the herbal ones.

Time to start protesting: Bring back loose tea!!!
