They're not heading for the cold as such.

They arrived in the south from the continent and are just spreading.

I have found the odd issue with leek pests. Fleece is the answer if one thinks there's a problem.  The plants themselves make great supports for the fleece and I don't think there's a need to be belt and braces in the way one has to be with carrot fly.. And leeks seem to grow rather better under fleece anyway. 100 leeks under a £1worth of fleece. looks tatty, but its worth it.

no they may be heading for the warmth if so then I will stay put and let them pass me by as it has been cold here since I can remember... have we had a spring yet?
