Does anyone know what this plant is?  It's well established on our new plot.

It is  a bronze leaved fennel plant.

Not Florence fennel with the white bulbous bottom, but  a perennial herb. the seeds are great in cooking or just to munch

Thank you!  So I should just let it flower and go to seed and then harvest the seeds when they are mature.  Right?  I've never heard of it before, so I am going to look it up and learn all I can about it.

I grew fennel one year - admittedly not the bronze form - and found that it had millions of seeds which grew into plants with extraordinarily long tap roots. I plan on growing it again but I'll be trying to stop it getting into quite so many odd places.
