[Mark's Sussex Allotment]

Evening all,

I've got my first spear coming through and I'm like a little kid!

My question is, why is it completely purple, as the variety I bought crowns of was Guelphs Millenium and I planted the crowns last autumn.

From memory, they should be green.

I'm sorry I can't help with your query, but I just wanted to say I'm having the same exciting experience today - 3 out of 10 crowns planted last Sunday - sprouting already!!!  OMG, exciting!! That is it.
