As I am limited for space, I can only grow runner beans in a deep container this year. Can anyone recommend a good variety that doesn't get too tall but has good yields ?

Hestia is the only small variety - but I wouldn't say the yield were good, compared with the climbing ones

Why does growing in a container limit the vertical height you can provide Hubs?

You can always pinch out the growing tips if they get too tall, and they will still produce more than Hestia.

You can grow them as tall as you like in a container

Those look very healthy, but are you 9ft tall, aunty? How did you pick them?

Get real Azubah - Aunty only has to give them a certain look and they jump straight into her hand!

That's the exact same container I plan to grow mine in. Would you put new compost in or just layer new stuff over the top ? Of course I will feed as well.
