Marvellous I have 3 of them. Do I need to do anything with them to help them grow?

Surprisingly, gooseberry is one fruit bush that you don't go out of your way to feed as this encourages too much green growth that can be prone to mildew and pests.  Some potash will be alright for fruit and flowers.  Pruning is usually done to improve ventilation (and reduce risk of mildew) so branches are removed from the middle to give it a bowl shape.
