Planting Asparagus
« on: April 08, 2013, 17:48 »
I grew asparagus from seed last year and they are now in 6in pot's. I am about to plant them out in their new bed but do i bury them the same depth as they were in the pot or do i plant them deeper like bare root's and draw the soil over them  over the next few month's.

They can be planted deeper than they were growing in their original pots, but don't overdo it (a couple of inches of soil on top is plenty, especially if you intend to give them the recommended annual mulch - although some of the roots go very deep the majority of them are quite shallow so benefit from a bit of protective soil on top of them.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older
