Whiteberries

My brother in law is a keen gardener. I would like to get him something a bit different. I saw some whiteberries in a catalogue, which appear to be similar to strawberries but white in colour. Does anyone have any experience with these?

I have them growing on my plot, but they won't fruit until this year, so I have no personal experience of the flavour yet. The reviews that I have read seem very divided - along the 'marmite' lines, with people either loving or hating them. If you decide against them, another unusual strawberry is Mount Everest which climbs.

I think I have seen it in several places, but just got mine from D T Brown. I will be interested to see whether they really climb or not. If they do, at least the slugs will have to work a bit to get at them!

Nooooo!!! Just
had
to Google Mount Everest strawberry, and of course ended up placing an order. Together with 3 Bishop of Llandaff dahlias and a packet of marigold seeds.
I'm now £26 lighter and its
all your fault

I know, I am sorry. I am a sucker for the unusual, they probably won't get nine inches off the ground!
