My friend has chickens; as a matter of fact, so does my local pub.

Both have offered me some excellent excrement from the feathered friends.

Should I take advantage of the offer, and if so, what exactly should I do with the stuff?

Add it to your compost heap. It will help it to rot down much more quickly. But do keep it covered as it can waft a bit and not everyone is keen on the pong.

It needs about a year to rot down before incorporating it into your soil as it's a bit strong like.

As said mix it into the heap. It is way to strong to go direct. You can also spread some around apple trees as I find it gives them a boost

I have some too and intend to make a tea with it which I will dilute and use as a liquid feed. I am not sure if this will work but think its worth a try .

I have heard of a tea made with sheep droppings, but not chickens. Apparently the idea us that you get a hesian sack and half fill it with sheep droppings, and then you suspend it in your water container.

Old net curtain does the same job as a sack but its a bit finer. Looks like a proper teabag only giant sized

my ex neighbour used to do the one with sheep droppings and it worked well for him ,we don't have sheep round here anymore. so I am going to try my chicken poo it may work if diluted enough I think .
