Personally I'd opt for the load with straw, pile it up and leave it until spring then spread. Piling up allows it to rot better and when you dig in you shouldn't have too much straw left. Better IMHO for adding overall fibre up than pure poo.
I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things; right now I am so far behind I will never die.

A vote for staw here also.  Bagsie any leftovers ! ::)  Make sure it is well covered untill it doesn't pong and is ready for spreading.

Cheers,   Tony.

Hi m1 - I have used new horse poo for many years in my veg pots on my flower garden, greenhouse, rooftop veg garden, garden shares and also in my plot for this year.

It is mixed with a lot of shavings and has really done well every year. People always say that it is no good but I beg to differ.. see my pics below..

All I used to do to my tubs of soil/compost was add horse poo, some growmore and a bit of chicken pellets..

Here is the same results for my first year on the plot.  I dug in a 4" layer of poo and shavings, some growmore and pellets again.. It seems to work for me.. do you think I should carry on with what i'm doing or not..

Pure horse manure is a 'green' as far as composting is concerned. When combined with the straw (a 'brown') and rotted down you get a more balanced fertilizer.

Good use of rooftop space, Gavin.

As for poo, regardless of shavings or straw, any of it is worth using.
